About this document
A landlord's consent to lease assignment records that a landlord agrees to a lease passing from an outgoing tenant to an incoming one. It identifies the lease and assignment, states what the incoming tenant takes on, what the outgoing tenant remains liable for, what is owed, the deposit and any conditions or guarantee.
It is signed by the landlord, the outgoing tenant, the incoming tenant and, where one is required, a guarantor. The consent is for this assignment only and waives no breach. What a landlord may require, and whether it can withhold consent, are matters for the lease and local law.
